Patna: Patliputra University vice-chancellor (VC) RK Singh on Wednesday called upon the students not to waste their time on mobile phones as it would hardly pay them anything. Rather they should devote their time and energy in academic pursuits, sports and games to ensure their all-round personality development, he said.
Inaugurating the two-day sports festival organized by AN College here the VC said athletic activities are essential for physical as well as mental development of the youths. “Unfortunly, most students spend a considerable time on their cellphones which causes unwanted tension in their minds,” he said.
He appreciated that even in adverse circumstances, so many youths are participating in college sports activities.
College principal SP Shahi said that owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, sports and various other extracurricular activities could not be held in the college during the last two years. “However, students are taking part in sports with great enthusiasm and now these activities will hopefully be organised regularly,” he said.
College teachers’ association president Kala Nath Mishra conducted the programme. A large number of college teachers and students attended the function. Athletic society president Ajay Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
